Kids Ceramics

Do you have a little artist who loves working with their hands?

When we work with clay, we quickly learn that these objects we make tell stories. Not only does it feel good to touch, at the same time, it transforms our mood. It also feels amazingly empowering to transform a lump of clay into something you can use! Sign up and secure a spot.

Course starts Thursday, 16 May (15:15-17:15)

Sessions: 23/5, 30/5, 6/6, 13/6, 20/6, 27/6, 4/7, 11/7, 18/7

Kids can wind down after school and switch on their creative mode. This is a 9-week course for children, we will cover basic to some intermediate ceramic hand-building techniques as well as glazing. Each week a new challenge to explore. With the completion of this course, students will have a good understanding of how to successfully make many different objects out of clay, and paper clay. There will be an unveiling party on the last week of all students' pieces. Each are expected to bring home 7-8 pieces of artwork.

In this session we will focus on the component of attention (being present in the moment, sensations, and thoughts). Projects include mirror, necklace and rings, sculpted flowers, and table ware.

*For continuing students, this course will give them the advantage to make new challenging projects using intermediate hand-building skills they already acquired from the previous class.
